About Us
Our RICS Chartered Surveyors carry out most of the property surveying services you need, whether buying new property or assessing problems in the home you already own.
Alan J. Young Surveyors was formed in 1986 when Alan set up as a sole practitioner practice having completed a BSc degree in Building Surveying at Leicester Polytechnic
Alan became an Associate Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 1984. The practice was originally based in a small office at the back of a local glove factory on Seaton Road but moved to the now established location at The Lodge, Penn Hill, Yeovil in 1991
“We are proud to have been entrusted with the design of prestigious residential properties in London and Windsor, for a well-known celebrity.
I’ve also recently appeared as a surveying consultant on the BBC’s property programme Cowboy Trap”
Yeovil was mentioned in the Domesday Book as Givele or Ivle, although paleolithic remains and a Roman Road show that the area was settled before then. A centre for the glove making industry in the 19th century, Yeovil is now heavily into aircraft and defence, notably AgustaWestland who design and make helicopters.
Jack the Treacle Eater is one of four follies in nearby Barwick Park – this building is an archway with a turret and statue on top of that. The other three are the Needle, the Fish Tower and Messiter’s Cone (or Rose Tower).
